Waynes of Newlands Park

Post by stone-penge »

So I was in Clapham North getting my MOT done. (Even though there's a MOT garageright on my street I always go here as I have done for years) and this rather fetching fuel pump in the garage caught my eye. On closer inspection i saw it was made on my street, by Waynes of Newlands Park. I wonder if anyone remembers were this was? I suspect it is where the MOT garage is.

I recognise the company name but not the location. Fortunately these wise folk know:

There are a few other photos out there in web land, including one where Wayne's put themselves in SE20 (darkest Penge) which seems understandable.

A lot of my family worked for Wayne's at Newlands Park and moved with the company when it relocated to Bracknell New Town in Berkshire in 1957. It subsequently became Dresser Wayne.
