Are you going to tell us where it is?!

The Pathe footage looks like your earlier post of the cycle racing round the engine house...

Certainly

The first photo is up by the higher terrace near the south transept sphynx steps.

I believe all the car scrapping was done on the terraces/main palace site.

Click on the thumbnial images and you can view a low res news real videoof the car scrapping (where the still in my post is from):

Brilliant!

I loved watching that. I don't remember having seen those tracks before, I'll go and look at the weekend.

I've got two questions for you Konqi:

1. Do you have a photo of the front of the Palace from 1854? Or, more likely, of the parade before the High-Level station was in situ? There are so many of the gardens from that time.

2. Do you know of a filmed documentary or feature that was made of the palace pre 1936? I've seen the clips from British Movietone News, the ITN/Pathe clips you've provided, but nothing expansive!

1)From memory I can't think of any photos I've seen of that side of the palace around that time.

2)apart from http://www.itnsource.com which hosts numerous clips from different news sources (although not all are available as a preview yet) don't know any.

Don't think there are any plans for it so might get removed.

For a number of the LDA's plans I don't think a lot of them.
