The Bell Pub

Where was the Bell Pub in Sydenham. I believe it was in Lower Sydenham somewhere near Southend Lane or Bell Green. There were some shops across the road and one was a pet shop. Is there a photo of that era available anywhere? Thanks. Chas

I seem to remember a pub called The Bell, see http://goo.gl/maps/aySL3 for a photo from that era.
However, I haven't visited that side of Sydenham for many days, so my memory may be somewhat faded.

Is it fair to assume that you haven't visited Sydenham for about 30 years?

I recall The Bell , which I believe was roughly opposite the Bell Green Health Center.

Must be honest never looked very reputable so do not believe ever visited.

It's still there. Looks alright from the outside too.

Thanks all for your quick responses. I haven't visited Sydenham since I left there in the 1954 to join the Army, then lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire until moving to Victoria, Australia a couple of years ago. Just brushing up on the family tree. Best Regards. Chas
