Is anyone missing a bike?

Post by mysti77 »

About 2 weeks ago we noticed a red bike stashed in a pathway used to access our back garden. It's still there! I wonder if it was stolen and then stashed there?

Anyone missing a bike?

That's funny, about two weeks ago I was walking down Kirkdale, having bought some fish and chips. A dodgy looking bloke approached me, pushing a red mountain bike; he stopped me in the street and asked if I'd like to buy the bike, as he needed money to buy a train ticket to London Bridge "to see his wife and kids". I suggested he get on his (probably stolen) bike.

Well the bike is still stashed away in our pathway. I don't know what we should do with it and it is a mountain bike so it's the same one I imagine.

0300 123 1212 is the new non-emergency number. They might send someone round to pick it up. It might be tagged with the owners postcode and house number.

TimA,

I see you're located near Wells Park.

Your bike didn't disappear about 5 - 6 weeks ago by any chance did it? There was a red one abandoned in a neighbours front garden in Halifax St. I left a voicemail and emailed the Safer Neighbourhoods Team as it was definitely stolen but didn't hear anything back and it disappeared again about 2 weeks later.

Bike stolen

Post by TimA »

We had two bikes stolen on the night of 11 October, so probably not the one you spotted in Halifax Street.

stolen bikes

Post by ebbsingen »

3 bikes of mine have been stolen in Sydenham in about 2 years...
The last one was stolen very recently, but it was grey, not red.
Maybe somebody painted it... Who knows..
The last one had disc brakes on both wheels.
