Sydenham Arts Festival: the Visual Arts Trail

Post by annabel mclaren »

One of the major elements of the Sydenham Arts Festival is an artists trail taking people around local businesses, libraries and artist's studios. If you haven't already got the Arts Trail leaflet please pick one up from the Kirkdale Bookshop (all SAF brochures should have a copy inside).

The first paintings to be hung in restaurants, pubs and cafes have just gone up in Gurkhas's - wonderful work in oils by Adam Pete and Jesus Baranco. The exhibition is entitled 'Out of Sydenham' and features the work of two artists who live in Spain. Jesus Baranco is based near Malaga and his work features fishing ports and mountain villages; Polish-born Adam Pete lives in Mallorca and paints amazing pictures of animals. The exhibition continues in the restaurant until July 12.
