It lists anyone who is looking at the forum. It's always been there from what I remember. Bots are from search engines such as Bing, Google etc, that's one reason why this forum features so highly on any searches for Sydenham. I don't know exactly how they work (I'm sure we will find out son enough!)

They are algorithms (automated computer programmes) that trawl for key words that people might use in their search parameters. It's how the search engines find things.

So, f'rinstance, If you search for 'Overground' and 'Sydenham' you will see results from this forum.

Thnks, I have always seen them but didnt know what they were for,but I have only today seen the "online" banner that is across Eagles and my posts,how did I suddenly get this,did I touch something that I didnt know I had?

You may not have noticed it before. And it will disappear when you go offline. So it comes and goes.
