The Internet Heartbleed Vulnerability

Post by admin »

This is an advisory we have sent out to our clients. As you can see it should not affect STF.

Dear Clients,

You may have heard the news this week of major and global threat to
internet security known as Heartbleed. This is a vulnerability in a
cryptographic library that can reveal information that is supposed to be
secure to an attacker. This is not easy but it is possible. The BBC
report is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-26954540

This affects many of the web and mailservers on the planet. All System
Administrators have been checking and fixing the issue.

One of our servers was using the faulty library and it has been fixed.
It is unlikely that it suffered any attack as its address is not public
and known to very few people.

What should you do? Normal logins are not affected and there is no extra
need to change passwords. If you login securely to cPanel it would be
prudent to change your password just in case.

We continue to monitor this issue carefully and will advise you if
anything changes.
