I foresee an unexpected - yet notoriously predictable - 'setback'. Further reinforcing local mistrust of the whole project and the faceless opportunists behind it.

So, business as usual.

Not that faceless realy BBW:

http://www.purelake.co.uk/press_releases.php?article=19

Gerry Dowd, Finance Director at Purelake New Homes, said: “The last two years have been challenging, but we’ve remained focused on building quality developments in prime locations and selling at a price that reflects market conditions. “

The surname is familiar, are they by any chance related? ;)

Where did you here that, Simon?

I'd consult your source if I were you because when I clicked on Purelakes 'In the pipline' section on the link you provided us with it declared the are: "No projects available."

BBW, my sources are impeccable, as always.
Purelake have confirmed their involvement to me this morning.

Sounds good, Simon.

I moved to Syd just before the pub shut down so never had chance to try it out (although had gone past it often enough). Hopefully, the build time (of the pub at least) won't be too long!

A sign on the hoardings says that demolition vehicles will require access from 20 June...

Yes limited work has started. There are 2 big skips in the back yard and they are filling them with all the old beds, furniture etc that had been left behind. A lot of the windows are out as well.
Have to say though I objected to the plans I am glad they have started now so that the area looks better and we get new impetus to the regeneration of the area.
