"BTW: Aiden, what's the kitty at?"

A serious question, I think?

A number of poinbts.

Firstly, I apologise for my absence at the curry evening, but i had a few last-minute domestic issues.

Secondly, I hope to make the 1st December. What time is Kick off ?

Lastly, I was in Oxford St last night and saw a familiar face carrying a bag marked "5-a-side kitt'y", obviously doing his Christmas shopping. I wonder what you'll be getting ?
probably something frugal . . .

Aiden, it is becoming something of a running joke not only to [not] book the requisite pitch or wash the kit once in a blue moon but also the reluctance to inform the key internal stakeholders as to what their investment [the kitty] is.

I refer to 'key internal stakeholders' as somewhat of a joke but the fact remains that not only are you chief organiser but you must take on the role of club secretary. In as much as both Lem and I would bore onlookers with "We booked X pitch and had X players at X cost and as such the X kitty is embellished/diminished by X amount"...dull but vital.

We've seen little/no evidence of your wish to do said updates...

Bottom line; Aiden what's the kitty?

I can work out from page 77 what is SHOULD be. Based on attendance and pitch booked. But, I'm wondering if there's a reason as to why you are unwilling to answer the constant requests*

*And hey, I know I can be a massive tool but on this point I await your damning reply. I know what it SHOULD be...best not to fall short?

With baited breath...

You are right Ullysses - you ARE a massive tool!

First of all, there's more to life than being on this forum every day - that's why I haven't seen your 2 requests for the update on the kitty.

It stands at £61 at the moment - not bad given the poor attendance we had for a couple of weeks. See if that recs up from page 77 - it'll help make your weekend seem less boring.

So what if I don't send everyone lists of who's playing and send up to date running totals of the kitty? I have a real job, I'm busy. People turn up or they don't. They pay me. I look after the kitty. Big deal.

I missed washing the vests twice.

You didn't even ask me to take over the running of this. I stepped in for you for two weeks. You then plastered massive hints about me taking over all over the forum. Then when you came back from your holiday, you skulked off without even asking me about it.

Fair enough, I said, he's can't actually ask me. Everyone should do 3 months or so. Then you come out with all this crap!

Then you take it upon yourself to book a 7 a side pitch. You have my number - why didn't you ring me about it? As I say, I'm not on the forum everyday. What if I had missed your post? I would have personally been down £60!

You apparently weren't happy with Biscuitman's tenure either. Donny (if you're still willing to take over mate), you have this to look forward to.

I was more than happy with Biscuitman - I don't know where you got that from. As I was with Marathon - I'd prefer you not to put lies into my mouth.

Ditto, that I hinted? Hinted what? Are you a fantasist and just see things than aren't there? I asked overtly for someone to take over whilst I was in Canada. I'll admit that you ended up doing probably a lot longer than you thought you would as I realised that I'd not be back until Monday. If you were unhappy (clearly you are hence the performance) I'd have taken the gaffership back on if only you'd asked. Or we could've gotten someone else if there was a preference for me to not do it.

Skulked off? You mean I got injured and kept on coming back too early from heavily damaged ribs? Deciding eventually that I needed a proper break? Oh, that bit. Yeah, properly furtive I was.

It doesn't matter. I got the answer I wanted; thanks. £61 - I reckon it should be higher but we'll go with that.

BTW: I booked the pitch in my name, not yours. It's fairly obvious why I did it, to make sure through you sitting on your hands meant we didn't lose the 7s again. Why would you be down anything? I booked it in my name! I'd be down £80, if anyone. I said it was something I would never do again but it was forced on me, to a degree. ~16 people on a 5s? Come on! Why should I have called you? I'm confused by your logic...

Anyway. I finally got what I wanted. Wasn't so hard? Would've been nice to have had it to spend at the currry although I'm impressed with your miraculous recovery from the flu.

Think we'll leave it there. We've both said what we wanted.

Enjoyed last wednesday, not sure it was a good idea to watch the first session of the ashes when I got home, and then get woken at 4.30 by my daughter. After the beer as well, was not on top form on Thursday.

I can't play on Wednesday, but I will think of you all whilst I'm sitting in the warm.

Looking forward to returning in the spring, I bought some football astros yesterday so now I will have no excuse for missing the hatful i did last game.

Might see about trying to rustle up Rory (Sydenhamboy) for a pre-Xmas game? Let me know if you need/want me to do this as it's always better with right/even numbers.

I think getting anywhere near enough in the run-up to Xmas is impressive so well done Diamondmaker.

Good idea. Go for it.

Indeed. Impressive commitment, lads. That said, I don't want to see anyone dropping out if there's snow on the ground. Just make sure you bring a shovel...

Sorry guys, was meant to go on this earlier. I am up for playing on Weds if it goes ahead in the snow. Sorry for late response, Dickie

I think we've most of the regulars confirmed positively/negatively so I'll await direction from the gaffer regarding trying to corral players. I won't do so if a)it makes us odd and b) they're not needed.

We're 12 with Dickie so I reckon we won't neccesarily bust a gut?

Looks like it's going to be an evening for hardy souls tomorrow. Personally, i think anyone wearing gloves (apart from the keepers), long-armed shirts and tracksuit bottoms, should be fined.

5-a-side is for men.
Although we might need an orange ball

Might be worth checking with Goals to see the pitch is still playable nearer the time

What's the fine for one of those roll-neck/neck-muffler thingymabobs that Tevez/Chamakh et al seem to be sporting at the mo?
