It certainly wasn't my intention to come across as if I was remonstrating with Alex, I still don't know how you read that. But apologies to Alex and anyone else who inferred it thusly.

I just felt it was wrong to cast aside - even for just one week - 3 players as if they were no better than cheap dates.

Rereading both Saul and my posts it's a simple case of offering up our own opinions...and our suggested solutions. Seemed, and still seems, fair enough to me.
It wasn't and easy decison but; Daniel is his mate so easy to ring him up and say sorry we're oversubscribed, Viet may have played several games but he hasn't "registered" and wasn't even confirmed for this week! And finally chris was last to confirm. It didn't need saying/discussing is all.

BTW When was the last cheap date you went on?

Cheap date? 3 pints of lager and a packet of pork scratchings... But I'll only go to second base unless you
tell me you love me.... Just FYI

2 pints of snakebite and I'm anyone's. And I mean anyone's. You don't even have to wait until kicking-out time. My standards start low and firmly stay there throughout!

reminds me of a pearl of wisdom my dad imparted on me and my mates as teenagers: "go ugly early and avoid the rush!"

Presumably most of your conquests were given the same advice by their mothers...

I thought Noah had outsourced 'Ark II' to the TATA group in India?

I'll give Kevin a call on their helpdesk to confirm : )

What's the betting that after the debate, we end up with 5 vs. 4 and have to ask some fella walking by with his dog to play...

Am enjoying the excellent pre-match comedy banter, see you later!

One of my housemates at Uni called Chubbs* used to only date fat birds. Quite reasonably he'd explain that immediately upon meeting them he knew how the night would pan out...

100% success rate, as you can well imagine. He famously got injured ribs one night after a particularly 'Shirely Crabtree' impersonator got a bit carried away in her ardour!

Painful!!!
