We live near the top of the high street, at the junction with Venner Road, and for a week now I've been hearing a sort of very deep droning sound inside my house - like there was a car idling outside on the street, but 24/7. The noise gets into your skull, and it's reached the point that I'm unable to be in the house without putting some other sound on to cover it up, even at night.
Has anyone else experienced this, or (even better) does anyone have any idea where it might be coming from? I'm afraid I won't be able to stay in the area if it continues, it's that bad.

Perhaps someone is using an electricity generator. Maybe one of the shops. If you are able find out where the noise is coming from and the noise is unreasonable, the Council may be able to help
