Old woolies in Penge

I thought I saw something on the forum earlier about the old Woolworth shop in Penge becoming an Argos or a Matalan but saw today it has become a large 99p store.Sign of the times I suppose,but better than an empty building.

I would not have thought that many products that could be purchased on 99p.
Surely the diving GBP must have caused a problem as would guess 90% of their products non British.

you'll find lots of things in 99p shop that you would find in any supermarket...boots....superdrug etc etc no way is it all foreign produce

At this time as with any other time...why pay more than you need to?

It's pretty good. Basically like a large Poundland and I'd say at least 50% of the stock was British. It'll probably be the deathknell for the other 3 or 4 tat shops in the area.
