Gas Supply

Post by stuart »

With exquisite timing the gas boiler has gone on the blink. The fault suggests low gas pressure so it may be the supply rather than the boiler.

Anybody else having problems?

Boiler seems to be functioning ok, but hob has been suffering from fluctuating pressure.

My boiler's pilot light keeps going out, I hope this is due to the supply rather than the boiler.

Ah, I wondered why the boiler wasn't firing earlier today.

I'd just changed the battery in the thermostat, so I assumed I'd done something stoopid.

My problem was the water outflow from the condensing boiler had frozen (it goes to an outside drain). This caused a backup and the boiler had closed itself down.

One hot kettleworth de-iced the problem and warmth returned. Thanks to the local Sydenham service engineer who gave me the tip. Saved a call-out fee and delay waiting in turn as this appeared to be a common problem on the day.
