Looking out this morning, I saw at the same time in the garden

• a thrush
• long tailed tits
• blue tits
• great tit
• a flock of c. 20 starlings

O for a better camera - or the ability to use it

What! no Robins?
I love the chatter of the Starlings,We have a pair of Robins who always seem to be here year after year(probably son of son of)
We are so lucky with the variety of birds we have around here,even the Parakeets with their noise are welcome.

I live on the 5th storey of a 6 storey block and we get starlings, goldfinches, greater spotted woodpecker, robin, great tit, blue tit, coal tit, nuthatch, wood pigeons, pied wagtail, stock dove and feral pigeons. All on my tiny balcony. I have a selection of seeds and nuts from Wilkinsons.

I suspect I share some of the birds I see with manwithaview, in particular the woodpecker which is an infrequent visitor to our garden. To add to the diversity of species I see a robin occasionally, plenty of magpies, a couple of wrens, blackbirds, thrushes, the occasional Jay, pararkeets flying overhead, and in the summer we see bats most evenings.

Yes the bats whizz around at dusk when it is warmer. Loads down Cox's Walk most warm evenings

Has anyone seen the owl? I hear it occasionally, but have never seen it.

I have all those birds in my garden. Lots of jays this year, more than usual.

There were 2 pairs in Sydenham Hill Woods last Spring I believe and I often hear a male in Wells Park just after dusk. (North Western side/Longton ave side
